Industrial Pipe Fitters & Semi‑Skilled Mates
We are recruiting Industrial Pipe Fitters and Semi Skilled Mates for work at various sites including Haverhill, Sudbury, Bury St Eds, and other areas. The role involves fitting and testing small‑bore process pipework (15‑50 mm), connecting pipework to panels, valves and manifolds, and preparing the fitting work for operating and shut‑down operations in process plants and factories.
Key responsibilities:
* Fit pipework to engineering drawings, including screwed, maypress, press fit and small‑bore compression pipework.
* Complete checks and pipework tests.
* Install mechanical systems on machinery and erect fitting steel‑work platforms on factory sites.
* Work from an IPAF scissor lift or cherry picker as required.
* Assist with urgent shutdown repair tasks.
* Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with relevant safety and process standards.
Hours and pay:
* 0700‑1700 Mon‑Fri, 0700‑1530 Sat, Sun as required.
* Pay: Skilled £27 Mon‑Fri, £34 Sat, £38 Sun; Semi‑Skilled £17‑20 per hour.
* Term of work: 8‑13 weeks, with possible extension.
Location:
* Ideally within 10‑30 miles of the main site; lodging and meals may be provided for workers travelling 60+ miles.
* Travel and lodging arrangements for sites outside the local area may be required.
Qualifications and skills:
* Experience with pipe fitting in industrial environments.
* Proficiency with small‑bore process pipework and associated fittings.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and PID diagrams.
* Experience using IPAF lifts and cherry pickers.
