Hays are recruiting for a permanent Legal PA/Secretary based in South Manchester. As Legal PA (Personal Assistant) in Manchester, you will support senior fee earners and partners within specialist departments.
Your new role
Core Responsibilities
1. Audio Typing & Document Preparation: Transcribing legal documents and correspondence from dictation (65+ wpm is often required).
2. File Management: Opening, closing, storing, and retrieving client files digitally.
3. Diary Management: Scheduling appointments, meetings, and court dates.
4. Client Interaction:municating with clients via phone and in person, maintaining a professional and empathetic tone.
5. Court Forms & Pleadings: Assisting in the preparation of legal forms and documents for litigation.
6. Team Support: Providing admin support to other secretaries and legal teams as needed.
7. Confidentiality: Ensuring all client information is handled securely and discreetly.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Legal secretarial experience, ideally in personal injury or civil litigation
9. Strongmand of English spelling, grammar, and punctuation
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital dictation tools (, Big Hand)
11. Familiarity with Proclaim case management system is a plus.
12. Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
What you'll get in return
13. Salary: between £27,000–£30,000 depending on experience
14. Hours: 8:30am–5:30pm (Mon–Thu), 8:30am–5:00pm (Fri)
15. Hybrid Working: available after probation
