Lead Practitioner in Maths (Fixed Term until 31 st July 2026) 37 hours per week £45,292 per annum Bolton College have launched an exciting new department focused on the integration of Maths and English within vocational curriculums, aiming to boost engagement and improve outcomes for learners. We are seeking an innovative Lead Practitioner in Maths to join the Portfolio Leadership Team, working closely with an Assistant Principal, Heads of Department, and the Quality Improvement Leader to drive improvements in Maths teaching & learning at the college. Ideally, you will have: Relevant degree or equivalent. Teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE). Level 2 qualification in English and Maths. Proven track record in the teaching of Maths GCSE to 1618-year-olds. Experience of embedding Maths into vocational or academic programmes of study. Experience of developing and designing interactive learning materials and innovative resources to meet personalised learning requirements. Day-to-day you will be responsible for: Leading the creation of a Maths Teaching Excellence Network, collaborating with high-performing Maths departments in schools and colleges to share best practices and elevate teaching standards for Bolton College learners. Delivering a maximum of 350 hours of teaching per year (around 10 hours per week), focusing on improving student outcomes and engagement. Developing and implementing a Maths coaching and mentoring program to foster a culture of excellence within the Maths department. Leading a research initiative on retrieval practices in Maths lessons, with the aim of creating a best-practice approach that can be extended to other departments across the college.
