The Senior Clinical Procurement Specialist role is an integral role within the Bristol & Weston NHS Purchasing Consortium (BWPC) by providing specialist clinical / functional expertise and acting as a link between clinical staff and the procurement team.
BWPC are responsible for the procurement and non-pay spend management across North Bristol NHS Trust and University Hospital Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust. With the formation of the Bristol NHS Group and supporting the joint clinical strategy the Senior Clinical Procurement Specialist role is a key role in the BWPC extended senior leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Procurement, the post holder will participate in setting the overall direction and strategy for the Procurement of clinical products, directly supporting the development of the CPS function within BWPC and acting as a key clinical link into the Trusts.
The post will establish and maintain key clinical relationships, to drive improvements in spend management behaviours across the Bristol NHS group, while delivering better patient outcomes at a lower overall cost.
Lead the clinical engagement as required for the Spend Groups underpinning BWPCs spend management delivery across NBT and UHBW.
Drive engagement in a collaborative, inclusive, and focused leadership style, often coordinating staff within different organisations.
Driving change within a challenging clinical environment ensuring focus on patient outcomes, standardisation and underpinning spend management.
Engage and hold to account clinical suppliers in an effective way to ensure outcome to support the trusts clinical requirements.
Drive the adoptions of the recognised creditation service provider, across Bristol NHS Groups trusts. Which will manage and verify all commercial suppliers (including but not limited to MedTech and pharmaceutical representatives, service engineers, and clinical trainers) across all Bristol NHS Group trust sites.
Demonstrate of use of a wide range of clinical treatments, diagnostic and consumable equipment and products to clinical staff, including assembly of surgical and clinical equipment.
Advising BWPC staff on clinical matters relating to all aspects of clinical work, consumables and equipment ensuring the right stakeholder, policy and regulations are considered
