Clinical Healthcare Support Worker, Band 3

This is an exciting opportunity within our expanding Urology Department, which we aim to develop into a Centre of Excellence. The department consists of 13 urologists, an inpatient ward, an outpatient unit, and a newly opening diagnostics unit for LATP (Local Anaesthetic Trans‑Perineal) biopsies, flexible cystoscopies, lithotripsy, and a Urology Assessment unit for rapid assessment, treatment, and discharge or admission decisions.

We are a collaborative team focused on patient‑centred care. Highly skilled nurses manage the department and work closely with clinicians to deliver safe, timely care.

Additional working pattern details: Up to 41.5 hours per week available to recruit to, full‑time or part‑time positions.

Main duties of the role

* Deliver safe, person‑centred care in a changing environment, including supporting the management of LATP, flexible cystoscopy, lithotripsy procedures, and emergency urology assessment units.
* Rotate within the unit and take responsibility for specific clinics/assessment areas, receiving training and support as needed.
* Gain competencies in investigative procedures, adhering to policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Assist and support patients during procedures, monitor vital signs, report findings, prepare patients for procedures, and ensure a positive patient experience through kindness, respect and empathy.

Person specification


Qualifications

* GCSE Level or equivalent Grade C (4) in English and Mathematics (or national equivalent).
* Basic knowledge of standard Microsoft Office programmes.


Experience

* Experience working in an acute clinical environment (through placement or employment).
* Previous experience in a relevant speciality.

* Effective and appropriate escalation of concerns to reduce risk and promote patient safety.
