Are you a qualified Mechanical Engineer looking to take your career in a new direction? A leading college in West Cumbria is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join their team as an HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering Lecturer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone from industry or an academic background to move into teaching-no prior teaching experience is required. Full training and teaching qualifications will be provided to support your transition into education.
The Role:
You will deliver high-quality teaching to students studying Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Mechanical Engineering. Teaching will primarily take place in a classroom environment, supporting learners to develop advanced theoretical knowledge and practical understanding relevant to industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and informative lessons across HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering courses
Support, assess, and guide students through their academic journey
Prepare lesson materials and contribute to curriculum development
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Requirements:
Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
A Mechanical Engineering degree (desirable)
Strong subject knowledge and industry insight
Passion for teaching and developing future engineers
Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification (fully funded)
