University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Senior Specialist Adult Dietitian to join the Adult Metabolism Service for inherited metabolic diseases (IMD).
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver highly specialist nutritional care to adult patients with IMD, primarily in the outpatient setting, and lead nutritional management during acute admissions.
* Provide transitional care from paediatric to adult services and support occasional outreach clinics.
* Collaborate closely with the IMD MDT including consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Specialist Pharmacist, Psychologist, Laboratory Staff and Dietetic Support Workers.
* Offer a highly specialist clinical service for adult patients with complex nutrition support, rehabilitation and preventive dietary therapy at UHBW and NBT sites.
* Play an active role in clinics, meetings, audits and research across the pathway.
* Provide training for healthcare professionals, carers and others, maintaining up‑to‑date specialist expertise.
* Supervise junior dietitians, support workers, apprentices and dietetic students, and conduct appraisals.
* Cover outstanding duties for other dietitians in their absence.
* Contribute to the wider acute dietetic roster, working one Saturday and one bank holiday per year.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties agreed with clinical and managerial leads for Nutrition & Dietetics.
Qualifications
* Band 7 senior specialist adult dietitian position.
* Prior experience in IMD dietetics is desirable.
