Your new companyHays Education are working in close partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Morecambe to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Mentor. This is a long-term position starting after Easter, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right individual.Your New RoleAs a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support to students who display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional and behavioural guidance to succeed in school.You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation, working proactively to help pupils remain in lessons and access learning effectively.Key responsibilities include:
* Providing 1:1 and small-group behavioural support
* Implementing behaviour strategies and individual support plans
* Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and social development
* Encouraging positive behaviour and re-engagement with learning
* Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and the SENCO
* Supporting pupils in line with school behaviour policies and individual needs
What you'll need to succeed
* Previous experience working with children or young people in a behavioural, pastoral or mentoring role
* A calm, resilient and consistent approach to behaviour management
* Strong communication and distinguishabilities skills
* A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional behavioural or emotional needs
* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
