Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being, and promoting independence while delivering exceptional patient care.
Duties
* Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support individuals with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
* Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
* Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
* Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
* Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
Requirements
* Previous experience in caregiving or support roles within assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care is preferred.
* Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients.
* Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including heavy lifting when required.
* A caring attitude towards seniors and individuals with disabilities is essential.
