Quastels LLP are looking to recruit a NQ–2 PQE Solicitor to join our Dispute Resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer with a strong disputes foundation who is keen to build a practice across commercial litigation, with exposure to insolvency-related disputes and, ideally, media and reputation management matters.
The Role
You will work across a broad range of contentious matters, including:
* Commercial litigation (High Court and County Court)
* Shareholder and partnership disputes
* Fraud, asset tracing and recovery
* Contentious insolvency (desirable)
* Media, defamation and reputation management (desirable)
You will act for a diverse client base including corporates, SMEs, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals, advising on business-critical disputes and supporting on urgent and time-sensitive matters.
Working closely with partners and senior associates, you will:
* Support on complex, high-value disputes, including strategy, drafting and client advice
* Prepare key documents (applications, witness statements, instructions to counsel/experts)
* Manage your own caseload of more straightforward matters with supervision
* Attend hearings, mediations and client meetings
What We’re Looking For
* Strong grounding in commercial litigation and CPR
* Experience drafting key litigation documents (statements of case, witness statements, applications)
* Ability to analyse complex issues and deliver clear, concise advice
* Strong research skills and practical application of legal principles
* A proactive, solutions-driven mindset
Desirable:
* Experience in insolvency litigation (e.g. director duties, officeholder claims, antecedent transactions)
* Interest or exposure to media, defamation or reputation management work
You will be:
* Comfortable managing your own workload and deadlines
* Confident taking ownership of discrete tasks and smaller matters
* Keen to develop within a fast-paced, high-quality disputes practice
Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (0–2 PQE)
* Training contract completed at a reputable UK firm with a strong disputes seat
* Strong academic background (typically minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
* Demonstrable experience in commercial litigation
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Clear commitment to a career in dispute resolution
* Right to work in the UK
