About the Role: As a Learning Support Assistant – Secondary Focus, you will work closely with teachers to support students both in and out of the classroom. You will provide tailored academic assistance, help manage behaviour positively, and encourage students to engage fully in their learning. The role may involve supporting pupils with additional learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers and reach their potential. Responsibilities: • Provide in-class support across a range of secondary subjects, assisting students with their understanding and participation. • Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning and close attainment gaps. • Support students with additional needs, adapting resources and approaches where necessary. • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, respectful classroom environment. • Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor progress and implement support strategies. • Maintain accurate records of interventions and student development. Qualifications: • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational role is desirable. • Experience supporting secondary-aged students is preferred. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to build positive relationships with young people and staff. • A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
