Team Leadership: Shift Engineers, Site Services Engineer, Engineering Apprentice
We're seeking a Senior Engineer with a strong mechanical background. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, high-spec manufacturing environment—ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, and mentoring a skilled engineering team.
What You’ll Do
* Lead day-to-day site engineering and building maintenance operations
* Deliver proactive and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
* Support and train engineers and apprentices
* Manage engineering projects (including machine installations and upgrades)
* Optimise the maintenance system and parts inventory
* Champion lean manufacturing and 5S across the engineering function
* Ensure compliance with all safety, legal and quality standards (ISO9001, BRC, FSC, PEFC)
* Liaise with external contractors, landlords, and internal teams
What You’ll Bring
✅ 5+ years' hands-on experience in a mechanical/electrical role (preferably in print/packaging)
✅ Strong mechanical bias, with confidence in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
✅ Experience working on complex production equipment under tight deadlines
✅ Background in leading teams and managing projects
✅ Familiarity with maintenance systems, stock control and H&S procedures
✅ ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
✅ NVQ Level 2 & 3 and a structured apprenticeship background
Desirable Experience
➕ PLC, inverter or Siemens systems
➕ Basic building maintenance and first aid
➕ MEWP or electrical inspection/testing (2394/2395) qualifications
Working Hours – Double Day Shift
Week 1 (AM)
Mon-Thurs - 6:00am – 1:25pm / Fri - 6:00am – 1:00pm
Week 2 (PM)
Mon - Thurs - 1:20pm – 9:00pm / Fri - 12:55pm – 6:55pm
