About the role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Group Financial Reporting & Regulatory Accounting Manager, playing a pivotal role in shaping the financial and regulatory landscape of Northumbrian Water Group. The role offers potential for future career progression within our Finance Leadership team.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will lead the delivery of high-quality financial and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with Ofwat and other regulatory bodies, while also supporting strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
This role combines technical expertise with strategic foresight, requiring you to manage complex financial models, oversee statutory and shareholder reporting, and act as a key liaison between finance, regulatory teams, and external stakeholders.
You will also lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement in financial processes, and contribute to the company’s long-term financial planning and governance. Your insights will directly influence regulatory strategy, credit rating discussions, and the financial performance of the Group.
About you
We are looking for someone who is a highly credible and experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial management.
With a strong background of working in a senior leadership role, you will bring a deep understanding of UK and IFRS frameworks, ideally within a regulated environment.
You are a confident communicator, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and external bodies such as Ofwat and Deloitte.
We are looking for you to have exceptional analytical skills, and you are adept at presenting complex financial information clearly and persuasively.
You are someone who thrives under pressure, able to manage multiple priorities with resilience, and lead with integrity and vision.
As a dynamic and commercially astute leader, you are passionate about developing your team and ensuring robust financial governance across the organisation. You will play a key role in our ERP transformation journey, helping to implement best-in-class systems that support our strategic goals. This includes embracing cutting-edge digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation to drive innovation in reporting.
