Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner- Band 4
Midlothian Community Learning Disabilities Team.
Permanent- Part Time 20.72 hrs per week (Mon- Fri, 9-5 Service). The post holder will be required to work on a Tuesday however other hours are negatable to meet the needs of the service and the post holder
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant practitioner to join the Midlothian Community Learning Disability Team at Bonnyrigg Health Centre. This role is to support the Specialist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist within the team. The team forms part of a wider integrated service with the Midlothian LD Social Work Team.
The post holder will be delegated appropriate tasks by qualified Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapy team members. They will work under guidance in undertaking clinical and non-clinical tasks. It is expected that the post holder will work independently with patients, within the agreed parameters of a defined intervention plan. Training, supervision and support will be provided.
The post holder must be adaptable, innovative and a team player with good communication and problem-solving skills, they must be keen to work with this client group and participate in furthering the development of the service. A HND in a health-related subject or SCQF level 8 /SVQ III/HNC is required although consideration will be given to those able to demonstrate that they are working towards this qualification.
