An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within paediatrics to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that co‑ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs. Typing is essential.
Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to all clinical staff within the clinical area, including consultants, nurse specialists and junior doctors, ensuring effective coordination of their diaries, including cancellation and reinstatement of clinics in line with planned and unplanned leave.
* Support the clinical team, service manager and other divisional managers in ensuring the speciality delivers safe and effective services whilst ensuring compliance with contractual access targets (e.g. 18‑week referral to treatment target, RTT and cancer).
* Provide cross‑cover for other patient pathway coordinators to maintain a consistent and effective administration service at all times.
* Manage telephone communication with patients, doctors, nursing, midwifery teams and outside agencies.
Qualifications & Skills
* Excellent typing skills.
* Strong telephone communication skills.
* Extremely organised, highly motivated and proactive.
* Experience in a medical or clinical environment is preferred.
