In the light of increased demand and a regionally expanding Allergy service, NBT wishes to invite applications for a part time General Practitioner(s) or trainee, with (or to develop) a specialist interest in allergy. Depending on the applications we may be able to appoint a second post. As this is a specialist area, we would consider giving training to those with an interest but who have not yet achieved requisite skill level in allergy.
Based in Southmead Hospital (but clinics may be required at other local hospitals), the post holder will be provided with an opportunity to deliver care in one of Europe’s leading hospital facilities, as well as providing outpatient diagnosis and treatment for allergy. This role could be expanded to include inpatient supervision of allergy challenges, after appropriate training. NBT has been commissioned to provide services to Taunton, South Gloucestershire and Bath hospitals.
The successful applicant will play a key role in extending NBT’s Allergy & Immunology service & will work closely with Consultants and Specialist Nurses to meet increased demand for ambulatory care whilst also supporting inpatient day‑admission procedures. This is a great opportunity to learn more about allergies & the immune system, to trial it for a possible career or to take the skills learnt into general practice. We are looking for applicants based in the BNSSG area so that we can better integrate allergy services into our local community care.
