Job overview

As project manager in the Children and Young People's Gender Service, you will have direct responsibility for overseeing the delivery of the service's quality improvement projects.

The role will focus on a range of projects looking at patient pathway development and building relationships with stakeholders across the South West region. The post holder will support the planning and delivery of this programme of work using expert project management skills, operational management support and analysis to identify opportunities for alignment and improvement.

As a project manager in the team, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are well planned, coordinated, and delivered with benefits identified upfront and realised on delivery. You will be expected to use your knowledge and experience to ensure projects are delivered within time and cost constraints and your ability to build strong relationships and trust with clinical and operational teams will support implementation.

The post holder will be working in a dynamic change environment, with tight timescales and with a wide variety of stakeholders. This exciting role has a real opportunity to drive and contribute to clinical and operational programmes of work which will make a genuine difference to patients.


Main duties of the job

• Provide overall management for a range of projects within the CYP Gender Service (South West).
• Provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information where agreement or cooperation is required within the project portfolio. The project portfolio will include a range of quality improvement projects.
• Present project sensitive or contentious information to multidisciplinary clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Present to project boards, highlighting the importance of complex projects, negotiate with, and motivate colleagues for project delivery, including linking in with other initiatives and projects.
• Communicate sensitive information about performance and change as part of the project portfolio.
• Provide formal project presentations at meetings to a range of staff groups.
• Work with complex facts or situations that require analysis, interpretation, comparison of a range of options in relation to the projects in the portfolio.
• Plan and organise broad range of complex activities; formulations, adjust plans or strategies or programmes as part of the project portfolio.

* Educated to master’s degree level in a relevant subject area or have equivalent appropriate experience
* PRINCE2 Practitioner, similar qualification or equivalent level of work experience and knowledge
* Evidence of Continual Professional Development

* Experienced in successfully managing the full life cycle of projects
* Collaborating with managers and staff at all levels including Director / Senior level/ Executive level delivering change management
