Plant Operator - (Industrial Wastewater Treatment Projects)
Main Purpose:
The plant operator is responsible for operating, monitoring and maintenance of the assets associated with Aqua Operations Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs).
The Operator will be expected to implement monitoring control activities and operational changes to ensure the ETPs operates reliably and efficiently to ensure discharge compliance.
The Operator will conduct all required tasks as required (both planned and reactive), responding to alarms and will make process decisions based on monitoring of the plant SCADA system. The Operator will also carry out planned maintenance and reactive unplanned maintenance tasks (assisting the plant maintainer for complex tasks) should they arise, ensuring the process assets are in as good condition as possible. The role requires that the process and assets are operated at optimum performance at all times.
The Operator will also be expected to maintain analytical data into a computer-based system to record plant performance and be able to use the trends and data to make proactive decisions in conjunction with the Plant Manager.
The role requirements are for the safe & seamless operation of the plants in accordance with the EA permit:
* Purchasing consumables, for example Chemicals
* Monitoring of SCADA and responding to alarms
* Day to Day Plant Operations
* Proactive monitoring and reporting
* Feedback onto planned maintenance systems and reactive maintenance actions
* Improvement feedback and plans
* Optimisation
* Laboratory analysis tests/sampling
* Support to and from Maintenance Lead
* Site Housekeeping
* On call rota
Knowledge & Experience:
* At least 1 to 2 years on SCADA process for monitoring of processes and assets.
* To be able to demonstrate through previous work experience, an ability to interpret technical information to affect changes on the plant
* Operational knowledge of ETPs.
* Experience of conducting either Electrical, Mechanical or Instrument planned Maintenance programme.
* Experience of working directly with sub-contractors.
* To be able to demonstrate through previous work experience, an ability to interpret technical literature and engineering drawings to enable troubleshoot and fault diagnostics
* Ability and knowledge to complete basic repairs and maintenance.
* Computer literate
* Ability to use Maintenance Management Systems
* Advanced knowledge of ETP's
Education & Training
* Training in Environmental Health and Safety
* NVQ or similar in plant operations and/or maintenance
