What you will do:

As Business Development Executive – Mid Market you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for omni-channel merchant acquiring solutions enabling merchants to accept in-store and online payments from their customers. You will target merchants with a card turnover of £2 to £50million+ per annum within the retail sector. You will use a needs-based (MEDDPICC) sales process to understand merchant challenges, goals and preferences, and propose tailored value adding solutions. You will also build and maintain long-term relationships with the merchants, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Managing the whole sales cycle from prospecting to closing, using various channels such as cold calling, referrals, networking, and online platforms, utilising the MEDDPICC sales process;
2. Develop your online and offline payment solutions knowledge to be considered a subject matter expert;
3. Conduct discovery calls and meetings with potential merchants, using effective questioning and listening skills to uncover their needs, pain points, and objectives through the MEDDPICC sales process;
4. Present and demonstrate the features and benefits of the merchant acquiring solutions, using relevant case studies, testimonials, and data;
5. Handle objections and concerns, and provide solutions that address the merchants' needs and expectations;
6. Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring compliance with the company's policies and procedures;
7. Build and maintain strong merchant relationships, and identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities;
8. Update and manage the sales pipeline and CRM system, and report on the sales activities and results;
9. Act as the customer relationship owner to ensure delivery on customer expectations efficiently and within timeframe commitments to ensure their satisfaction and retention;
10. Collaborate with internal teams and coordinate activities such as delivery support, after-sales support and service;
11. Collaborate with the internal colleagues, such as marketing, product, and operations, to provide feedback and insights on the market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape;
12. Attend and participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and events as per the requirements of the business;

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

13. Proven sales hunter with experience and track record of achieving sales targets and company objectives.
14. Vertical sales specialism within Retail POS solution sales;
15. Possess an understanding of POS / Payment systems integration;
16. Highly motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
17. Highly adept sales skills and of using needs / solutions based sales process;
18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with merchants;
19. Strong presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compelling way;
20. Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities;
21. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues;
22. Proficient in using CRM systems and MS Office applications.
