The Role
As an R&D Mechatronics Engineer you will design the mechanical architecture of marine robots, participate in prototyping, testing and industrialisation, and collaborate closely with electronic engineers, roboticists and production teams.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
* Own mechanical design of parts and full assemblies
* Create design concepts based on requirements and analytical assessment
* Produce 3‑D and 2‑D documentation ensuring form, fit and function
* Apply latest design and drawing standards with manufacturing considerations
* Develop robust, scalable, cost‑effective components
* Define and execute validation tests for technical maturation
* Create comprehensive design documentation according to company guidelines and quality standards
Qualifications
* Several years of mechatronic design experience, ideally for underwater robotics or similar demanding applications
* Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field
* Outstanding hands‑on experience with 3‑D/2‑D CAD and PLM tools (SolidWorks, PDM, Siemens NX, Teamcenter)
* Proficiency with ASME/ISO drawing standards, mechanical design standards and analysis of mechanical elements
* Knowledge of constraints associated with underwater maritime environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Eager to drive fast‑track developments and realise innovative solutions
* Enjoy working in a fun, highly flexible environment
Nice to Have
* Experience with ROV or AUV design and systems under external pressure
* Experience with actuators (brushed, brushless motors, servomotors, magnetic coupling) and sensors used in underwater robotics or mechatronics
* Experience with hydraulic systems and their design
