We are looking to appoint 2 x Part-Time Friendly and efficient Chef/Catering Assistants to run the Burger Van which will be situated in a location outside our Trade Counter/Showroom in Harlow, Essex.
Main Purpose:
You will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of a range of fast-food items within the confines of a mobile kitchen (permanent location) such as burgers, hotdogs and associated items ensuring food safety and maintaining a clean work environment. Serving customers efficiently offering a friendly and personable customer service
Main duties and responsibilities
* Food Preparation and Cooking - following agreed recipes and menu options to a good standard.
* Food Safety Management System - adhering to all food safety guidelines and regulations ensuring preparation, food storage and serving.
* Kitchen Maintenance - Ensure the van, cooking equipment, fridges storage and serving areas are clean and organised at all times.
* Customer Service - Ensure all customers receive a friendly, efficient and engaging level of customer service
* Stock Management - Ensuring correct storage and labelling of food items. Assist with the inventory and re- ordering of food and ancillary items to ensure a consistent supply of items.
* Cash and card transactions - Ensure accuracy when taking orders and payments, following correct cashing- up procedures and reporting procedures are followed.
About You
* Level 3 Food Hygiene Qualification (or prepared to undertake the qualification)
* Experience of food handing, preparation and cooking
* An understanding of EHP checks and compliance to regulations
* Great customer service skills with a friendly and engaging personality
* Able to work under pressure during peak periods while remaining calm
Working Hours and benefits
* £12.40 per hour
* Working as a casual employee on an initial 3-month temporary contract after which time there may be the possibility of a permanent contract if successful.
* Anticipated hours will be between16-30 hours a week from 7am-3pm Monday - Sunday (There may be some requirement to work additional hours occasionally including weekends for special events or promotional activities)
