Position Title: Mechanical Services Project Foreman, new build care home Department: Mechanical Services / Construction Reports To: Project Manager / Site Manager Location: Havant 12 months plus Employment Type: Full-time / Contract Job Purpose: To oversee and coordinate the day-to-day mechanical services activities on construction or infrastructure site/sites, new build care homes and schools, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and timelines. Responsible for managing site teams, liaising with subcontractors, and ensuring quality workmanship in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical installations. Key Responsibilities: * Supervise and coordinate mechanical services work on-site (HVAC, plumbing, piping, etc.) * Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules. * Manage site-based labour and subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow. * Ensure work is carried out to required quality standards and project specifications. * Plan and schedule daily work tasks and ensure deadlines are met. * Conduct toolbox talks, enforce site safety rules, and ensure compliance with OHS regulations. * Monitor materials and equipment usage, requisition supplies as needed. * Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and QA documentation. * Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, and other trades. * Inspect completed work to ensure compliance and handover readiness. Qualifications & Experience: * Certificate III or IV in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Plumbing or equivalent (depending on country/region). * At least 5 years of experience in mechanical services, with 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role. * Proven experience in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure mechanical installations. * CSCS card. * Valid Driver’s License. Skills & Competencies: * Strong leadership and team management skills. * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. * Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. * Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. * Basic computer literacy Desirable: * First Aid Certification. * Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or commissioning
