Dueto a member of our admin moving internally to our new medication management team as an administrator, Roseneath Medical Practice are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and capable administrator to join our admin team.
Prior GP experience would be advantageous but training will be given and wewould welcome applications from those with admin experience gained fromoutside primary care.
Thesuccessful applicant will be a team player who is able to work with the GPs,nurses and receptionists in order to help our patients withtheir needs and should have a hands on, can do attitude.
We arelooking for someone to work 20 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons (ideally 12.00 to 17.00).
Main duties of the job
The role will involve handling the clinical correspondencecoming into the practice, ensuring it is scanned into the patients notes anddrawn to the attention of the relevant clinician through the Documentmanagement system, dealing with telephone calls from patients, photocopying, summarisingnotes, and other general administrative duties (this could include helping withreferrals into secondary care). We usethe EMIS clinical system and again whilst previous experience using this systemwould be beneficial, training will be given to the successful candidate.
We are a very busy and expanding practice. Good computer and communication skills are thereforeessential along with a positive attitude towards making the practice runsmoothly.

Roseneathis a partnership of 6 GPs who are supported by a salaried GP, ANP and team ofnurses along with reception and admin teams, a Practice Manager and DeputyPractice Manager.

Job responsibilities

Enteringinformation into patients notes
Dealing withcorrespondence received into the practice, for example, hospital letters anddischarges ensuring these reach the patient record and are brought to theattention of the relevant clinician
Answeringtelephone calls passed from reception
Working toprotocols and procedures (adhere to patient confidentiality)
Other admintasks as required which is likely to include summarising and coding clinicalnotes (previous clinical experience / knowledge would therefore beadvantageous)
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Able to communicate effectively - both verbally and written (ideally Grade C in English)
* Any courses completed in previous primary care roles in relation to the likes of clinical coding, summarising of notes, referrals etc
Experience
* Previous admin experience
* Evidence of working calmly under pressure
* Approachable and friendly
* Comfortable asking questions, approaching GPs and other staff for help whilst working inside knowledge and capabilities
* Previous GP surgery admin experience - document management, coding
* Clinical experience summarising notes
* Secretarial experience for onward referrals
