Job Purpose
To provide efficient and effective cleaning to the assigned workplace. Ensure that the cleanliness and general appearance of the building are maintained in accordance with the required standards and specific site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Empty waste bins or similar receptacles and transport waste material to designated collection points.
2. Sweep floors with brushes or dust control mops.
3. Mop floors with wet or damp mops.
4. Dust, damp wipe, wash, or polish equipment, furniture, ledges, window sills, and external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, mirrors, shelves, and fitments according to the cleaning schedule.
5. Replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) as required.
6. Clean showers, toilets, urinals, hand basins, and sinks.
7. Use cleaning products as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
8. Operate relevant equipment safely.
9. Maintain tidy and organized workspaces and storage areas.
10. Check equipment/machinery used and ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.
11. Work effectively in a team or independently.
12. Monitor cleaning stock levels and report low stock levels.
13. Carry out routine administrative tasks, such as checking off cleaning tasks on daily specifications sheets and completing timesheets.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned, which may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties.
Working Hours and Compensation
* Monday - Friday, approximately 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm during term times.
* Up to 4 weeks per year of additional work out of term time.
* Wages paid monthly throughout the year - Equated Pay.
