Job Description
Finance Director at Leading International Design Studio
Are you a Finance Director ready for a transformative role in one of the UK and Europe's top design studios? This could be the leap you've been waiting for.
An award-winning international design firm, renowned for its unwavering commitment to sustainable design, is on the lookout for a Finance Director to join their London studio. This studio stands out not just for its exceptional design portfolio, which includes corporate interiors, strategic workplace consultancy, new build architecture, and large-scale urban projects, but also for its dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and communities.
As a pivotal member of the London/Dublin leadership team, you'll take on full financial responsibility for the studio's operations in both cities, including an influential design brand under its umbrella. Your role is dual-faceted, aligning you directly with the London/Dublin Managing Director and the firmwide Chief Financial Officer, ensuring your contributions are integral to both local and global strategies.
In this role, you'll lead a dedicated finance team, driving them toward excellence through mentorship and development. Your mandate includes crafting and implementing comprehensive financial strategies that echo the company’s ambitions, offering insights that shape strategic decisions and ensuring regulatory compliance across all statutory bodies.
You're expected to manage the financial landscape of the business meticulously, from banking and cash management to financial planning and payroll functions. Moreover, you'll play a critical role in fee negotiation and project budgeting, laying the groundwork for successful and sustainable project outcomes.
Ideal candidates will bring a ‘hands-on’ approach to the table, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the financial regulations specific to the design industry. With a minimum of 10 years’ professional experience, preferably within a design firm or architectural practice, and qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA, your expertise will be the cornerstone of our financial strategy and execution.
Your proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with Deltek Vision or similar resource planning tools, will be invaluable. Moreover, your exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and strong technical accounting skills will be crucial in navigating the complexities of our international operations.
This studio is a vibrant community that cherishes diversity, equality, and inclusivity, believing that varied backgrounds and perspectives enrich the design process and ultimately lead to more innovative solutions for clients and communities.
If you're driven by the prospect of leading the financial direction of a studio that's shaping the future of design, we would love to hear from you. This is more than a job; it's a chance to be at the heart of innovation, sustainability, and design excellence.
