I am currently supporting a Wholesale business to recruit a Procurement Assistant into their fast-paced & busy Buying function. In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of suppliers and be responsible for procurement & inventory of a set amount of SKUs. Your key focus will be fostering strong relationships with suppliers, managing the purchasing process from start to finish, and ensuring appropriate replenishment while minimizing overstock.

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain optimal stock levels by ensuring timely replenishment while avoiding excess inventory and shortages.
* Ensure data integrity within the stock management system through accurate and consistent updates.
* Utilize the MRP system and Excel to interpret forecasting data and purchasing trends.
* Track and expedite delayed materials to prevent supply chain disruptions.
* Negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure competitive pricing without compromising product quality.
* Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies promptly to maintain strong vendor relationships.
* Identify and implement efficiencies to reduce purchase orders and streamline transactions across warehouse and accounts teams.
* Develop and apply inventory management strategies to lower stock levels and improve supply chain performance.
* Coordinate closely with the warehouse team to ensure accurate and efficient receipt of goods.
Criteria:
* 1-2 years of experience in similar procurement roles.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
* Ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
* Knowledge of MRP systems is desirable.
* Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
