We’re looking for a Facilities & Support Services Co‑ordinator to deliver an efficient, flexible and high‑quality facilities and business support service across a technically complex property and portfolio.
This is a hands-on, people focused role where you’ll help keep our places running smoothly while acting as the National Trust’s main point of contact at Brancaster. You’ll be a visible and approachable presence for local stakeholders, harbour users and partners whilst also working closely with other colleagues, volunteers and contractors.
Your work will directly support our conservation purpose and help create exceptional experiences for everyone who visits or works at our sites.
What it's like to work here
You’ll report to the Facilities Manager and be part of a supportive, collaborative team that works closely with Countryside, and Visitor Operations colleagues. Our work is varied, hands‑on and rooted in caring for special places for everyone. You’ll be trusted to use your judgement, work flexibly across teams and contribute ideas for improving how we look after our sites. This role is primarily site‑based at Brancaster, with some flexibility depending on operational need.
It is likely this role will be lone working, meaning you’ll be carrying out work activities without close or direct supervision, this could also include:
1. Working alone on site (e.g., early morning / late evening checks).
2. Being the only staff member in a building or area.
3. Visiting remote parts of a property (grounds, plant rooms, outbuildings).
What you'll be doing
This role involves coordinating planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, including repairs and servicing, to ensure facilities remain safe and operational. It also supports cleaning, caretaking and presentation standards across public and operational areas.You will act as a key contact for facilities enquiries, delivering excellent customer service while supporting health and safety, fire, security, access and risk management to ensure full compliance. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation, and working with contractors and suppliers to support contract and budget management.The role promotes efficient use of resources, minimising waste and encouraging environmentally sustainable practices. It also involves supporting volunteers and placements, occasionally supervising others, and contributing ideas to improve services and maintain a positive, collaborative team culture.A smaller part of the role involves supporting countryside and harbour operations. You’ll manage boat registrations, attend Brancaster Fairways Committee (BFC) and Brancaster Commons Committee (BCC) meetings (held quarterly in the evenings), and help coordinate contractor activity across the estate. You’ll occasionally assist with practical countryside tasks such as fencing, mowing and minor reactive repairs, working alongside and supported by the Blakeney Countryside team.
