Hays have a temporary job opportunity for an Estates Maintenance Supervisor to work with a large public sector organisation based at a Greater Belfast facility. This organisation has a large estate spanning several acres with a range of buildings varying in ages requiring a wide variety of engineering and building fabric maintenance services.
Your new role
This is a temporary contract for an initial period of months with the potential to extend. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will have responsibility for managing specific elements of estate buildings and engineering maintenance teams across the organisation’s estate. Some of the key duties include:
1. Supervising and managing directly employed trade staff and external contractors on maintenance and servicing duties, including building, mechanical, electrical works, and promoting innovative solutions for recurring problems.
2. Allocating resources effectively, including external sub-contractors and directly employed staff, for emergency and infrastructure works across all facilities, and ensuring quality of work.
3. Assisting directly employed labour, external sub-contractors, and Estates Officers in investigating and identifying problems with complex building fabric, plant, and equipment, and recommending suitable repair solutions.

What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
* Hold a relevant building/construction or related qualification at QCF or NQF Level 3 (or higher) with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant post-apprenticeship experience, OR
* Possess a BTEC HND/C or equivalent in a building/construction or related subject with at least 3 years’ relevant post-apprenticeship experience.
Experience required includes:
* Knowledge and experience in maintaining complex building fabric, engineering plant, and equipment.
* Experience in tasks related to building and engineering trade groups.
* Experience in repair, replacement, and renewal of building fabric, plant, and equipment, either directly or via contract.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CAFM systems.
A full UK Driving Licence is also required.

This position offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday, based from a modern office environment alongside a team of experienced engineers and surveyors. The salary is up to £34,500 pro rata, depending on experience and qualifications.
