We are a rural training practicewith eight Partners, eight Salaried GPs and a highly skilled wider team,including ANPs, practice nurses, HCAs, a pharmacy team, and dedicatedadministrative support. With a list size of over 15,000 patients, we operate fromtwo purpose-built premises and are proud of our strong ethos of collaboration,education, and high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a Salaried GP to work 4 sessions per week (18 hours) on permanent contract. You will deliver a high standard of clinical care to our patients, contribute to the effective management of the practice, and work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team.
You will also have opportunities to mentor and supervise other healthcare professionals, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and support the delivery of anticipatory care and long-term condition management.

We are a eight Partner rural training practice with six Salaried GPs. We have a varied and supportive clinical and administrative team,which includes three ACPs, three practice nurses, fiveHCAs, health and wellbeing coach and SP link worker, a full complement of medical administrators and pharmacy team. We have a growing list size of over 15,000 patients and operate from two purpose-builtbuildings.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilitiesof the Salaried GP in delivering health services.
a.The delivery of highly effective medical care to theentitled population.
b.The provision of services commensurate with the primarycare contract.
c.Hold your own patient list, providing continuity of care.
d.To clinically examine and assess patient needs from aphysiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical careaccordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner,utilising Practice and any other local guidelines.
e.Generic prescribing adhering to local and nationalguidance.
f.Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately toassist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, includinginitiation of effective emergency care.
g.Effective management of long-term conditions.
h.To support patients to adopt health promotion strategiesthat promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.
i.Processing of administration in a timely manner,including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associatedadministrative tasks.
j.Review medications following the appropriate policies,NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathways.
k.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction withgood practice, policy and guidance.
l.Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of thepractice workload.
m.Adhere to best practice recommended through clinicalguidelines and the audit process.
n.Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans.
o.Contribute to the successful implementation of continuousimprovement and quality initiatives within the practice.
p.Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (orareas) or the QOF.
q.Attend and contribute effectively to Practice Clinical meetingsas required.
r.Contribute effective to the development and maintenanceof the practice including clinical governance and training.
s.Be aware of your duties and responsibilities regardingcurrent legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures onSafeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children.
t.Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
u.Prepare and complete the revalidation process to remainfit to practice.
v.Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuingprofessional development across the practice team.
w.Review and always adhere to practice protocols andpolicies.
x.Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staffregularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
y.To be an integral part of the general practice team aswell as supporting the wider network and multi-disciplinary team.
z.There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry outother tasks, this will be dependent upon factors such as workload andstaffing levels.
In addition to the primary responsibilities,the Salaried GP has the following wider responsibilities:
a.Participatein the spectrum of clinical governance processes.
b.Participatein formal training events promoting best practice in area of expertise Provideleadership and education for members of the multi-disciplinary team, providingguidance and support when necessary.
c.Participatein local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.
