Job Description
As a BIM Modeller, you will be a key member of the production of civil and bridge engineering projects under the management of a Senior/Principal Engineer. You will play a critical role within the team in the production and coordination of high-quality 3D CAD models with embedded data and ensuring their alignment with project standards and the BIM Execution Plan.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the delivery and management of projects from technical design to construction stage to ensure compliance and delivery to project standards.
* Implement best practice and consistent processes across the project, including liaising with project stakeholders and the supply chain to ensure the correct standards are applied.
* Maintain quality processes and standards for all deliverables, including exchange information and conversion processes.
* Utilise Bentley ProjectWise with Autodesk Civil 3D for detailed 3D CAD model creation and documentation, ensuring models are fully coordinated and using clash avoidance tools embedded within the digital twin used on the project.
* Liaise with discipline BIM leads to optimize clash results using suppression rules based on modelling methods.
* Support the production of high-quality 3D CAD models and detailed construction drawings for railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information models.
* Produce model geometry and information in line with the Component Catalogue and BEP information.
* Ensure all models meet project requirements, with systems in place for clash avoidance, internal model audits and clash detection before submission.
* Support and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager and wider project JV team in delivering deliverables adhering to project standards and facilitating issue resolution.
* Assist in maintaining the project's ProjectWise Common Data Environment, ensuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards.
* Participate in quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, detail, and meeting employer information requirements.
* Assist in monitoring BEP compliance and project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status.
* Work closely with other disciplines to ensure 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary.
* Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent in relevant subject (BEng/MEng)
* BIM Modeller with at least 3 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects
* Experience in infrastructure of roads, bridges and underground utilities using Civil 3D
* Experience in modelling Architecture, Structure, and stage-based basic MEP models using Revit
* Experience delivering project information in accordance with ISO 19650 and BIM standards
* Experience working in a Common Data Environment such as ProjectWise
* Good knowledge of Navisworks
Desirable:
* Experience in rail, ports, and tunnelling sectors
* Working towards technician membership of a recognised institution such as ICE, or equivalent
* Experience working with international teams via hybrid working
