Job Summary:
Job Title: External and Internal Site Patrol and Lock up Officer
Hours:
Monday - Friday: to be onsite for the duration of shift)
Weekends: Occasional Unlocks /Lockups
Bank Holidays: No cover required
Position Overview: The Lock up Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the site after hours. This role involves patrolling both inside and outside the buildings, locking up buildings, securing the grounds, and ensuring the site is free of safety hazards. The Site Patrol and Lock Up Officer will also be tasked with monitoring any issues that arise during their working hours, reporting them to the Duty Manager and maintaining a secure environment for both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lock up all required buildings and grounds at the end of the day.
* Ensure all windows are closed, lights are switched off, external doors are secured, and rooms are secured (including pulling down blinds and locking doors if possible).
* Report any site-related issues, such as broken furniture, malfunctioning lights, or faulty locks, to the Duty Manager
* Set building alarms and lock external gates as part of the final security check.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
* In the event of a fire alarm sounding, exit the building using the nearest fire exit and proceed to the fire assembly point.
* Both fire and lockdown alarms are under the responsibility of the Site Duty Manager.
Interaction with Others:
* Ensure all communication remains polite and professional.
* Report any site related issues to the Duty Manager promptly.
First Aid:
* In case of a medical emergency, contact the receptionist or Duty Manager to request a first aider.
Uniform Standards:
* Uniform must be clean, tidy, and presentable always. Plain black trousers, black shoes/boots, supplied polo shirt
* Local branding or advertising of other work places is not permitted on the uniform.
Additional Information:
* This role requires a commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the college grounds and buildings, along with the ability to handle emergencies in the requested manner on an ongoing basis.
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
