Role Description
We are launching a new Painting Business Divisom and are seeking a dynamic, commercially astute individual to lead and grow this exciting venture. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced professional with a solid background in the painting or related industry to take full ownership of a business unit commerically from inception.
In this role you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, developing and executing growth strategies, and ensuring high standards of service delivery. You must be business-minded, results-oriented, and capable of working within a high-performing team. Your ability to make strategic decisions, manage resources efficiently, and build strong client relationships will be critical to your success.
This is a full-time role located in Borehamwood.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the new Painting Business Unit, including resource planning, staffing, and operational processes.
* Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth, profitability,.
* Oversee daily operations commercially to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
* Develop pricing strategies, prepare bids, and manage client negotiations with a strong focus on profitability.
* Monitor financial performance, report on KPIs, and take corrective action where necessary to meet targets.
* Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Proven experience in the painting industry or a closely related field (e.g., construction finishes, coatings, building services) is essential.
Demonstrated commercial acumen
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
Highly efficient, organized, and results-driven, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with competing priorities.
