Menzies are recruiting for a Senior Trust Manager, preferably with accompanying personal tax experience, to work within the Trust and Private client team. Ideally the candidate would be full-time but Menzies would be open to negotiate part-time working hours.
The ideal candidate would be a driven individual who, with wider partner support, will be responsible for the UK Trust services for Menzies, in all aspects of compliance and advisory services.
For the ambitious candidate there are clear opportunities for long term progression beyond Senior Manager.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
the ideal candidate will be responsible for the UK Trust services for Menzies. This candidate will work with the private client tax partners to devise the short- and long-term strategy (and continue to implement the existing successful approach) for the UK Trust team.
As part of this role, critical accountabilities and the day-to-day role of the candidate include:
7. Review the existing UK Trust firm strategy and work with the private client tax partners to add their views and recommendations.
8. Training and developing junior team members and structuring the team to help achieve the long term strategy.
9. Management of a portfolio of trust (and beneficiary) clients, ensuring key deadlines are met within agreed budgets. Including liaison with Trustees and other advisors.
10. The review of trust accounts and tax returns for UK trusts.
11. The review of personal tax returns for beneficiaries.
12. Review /preparation of trust inheritance tax returns and calculations.
13. Review /preparation reparation of trust tax pool computations.
14. Reviewing complex tax returns prepared by junior team members.
15. Spotting advisory opportunities and advising on tax planning.
The Person:
Required skills & Experience:
16. Sound experience in trust accounting and all aspects of UK trust taxation.
17. Not a required skill but would be a welcome extra if candidate had experience also with non-UK Trust and Estates.
18. Proven experience in managing a portfolio of clients.
19. The ability to work under pressure and in a deadline environment.
20. Good communication and inter-personal skills.
21. Proven experience in managing and developing team members.
22. Good IT skills with an added advantage if the candidate is experienced in using Trust Accounts software and CCH Tax
23. Preferably ACA/ACCA and CTA/STEP qualified
