Backup Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid | Glasgow City Centre | Be the SME Driving Resilience & Innovation

This hybrid role (three days a week in a modern Glasgow city centre office) offers the perfect blend of flexibility, collaboration, and impact. You will be the go-to expert for backup strategy, implementation, and optimisation across a diverse and dynamic environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for backup and disaster recovery solutions
* Designing, deploying, and integrating enterprise-grade backup platforms-ideally NetBackup or similar
* Leading infrastructure build and migration projects with a strong focus on data protection
* Collaborating globally to meet customer needs and ensure service excellence
* Advising on technical solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving continuous improvement
What You'll Bring:
* Proven experience with backup/data protection platforms-NetBackup, Cohesity, Veeam, or similar
* Strong grasp of on-premise infrastructure: storage, networking, operating systems
* Expertise in disaster recovery planning and execution
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
* Clear communication and customer-facing abilities
* A proactive mindset and team-oriented approach
Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Nice to Have):
* Experience with scripting or infrastructure automation
* UNIX/Windows Server administration
* Familiarity with SAN, NAS, or S3 storage
* Exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift
* Security hardening and vulnerability detection
