My client is looking for an Enterprise Cloud Platform Architect with strong experience across major cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery). This role will support the Discovery, Design & Implementation phase(s) by assessing current platforms and designing integration and migration patterns for a future connected data platform, with a focus on the Retail/CPG domain and successfully mapping & delivering the leadership vision with expected outcomes. Key responsibilities Perform detailed As-Is assessments of existing data platforms (environments, data flows, patterns, governance, performance, and cost hotspots). Design interim integration patterns to enable safe and efficient cross-platform data sharing and analytics. Define target-state technical patterns for how multiple platforms co-exist or converge (data engineering, storage, ML/AI, BI, security, and governance). Contribute to the target architecture blueprint with concrete reference architectures, pattern catalogues, and technical guardrails. Propose migration approaches by domain/use case, including refactoring vs lift-and-shift, sequencing, and non-functional requirements. Collaborate with client engineering and platform teams to validate feasibility, identify risks, and refine options. Required skills and experience 8 years in data engineering / data platform roles, with at least 35 years in architecture-focused positions. Strong hands-on experience with at least two major cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery) in production environments. Solid understanding of cross-cloud integration patterns (networking, identity, data movement, catalog/governance integration). Experience designing or supporting large-scale data platform modernisation, consolidation, or migration programmes. Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate architecture options to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Retail/CPG industry experience, with exposure to typical data domains (e.g., POS, consumer, trade promotion, supply chain, finance) and related analytics/AI use cases. JD We are looking for a Sr. Data Architect to own the Discovery phase of a major data platform modernisation and consolidation programme. The role will define the North Star connected data platform, interim states, and a pragmatic migration roadmap across multiple cloud data platforms, with a focus on the Retail/CPG domain. Key responsibilities Lead the end-to-end Discovery, Design & Implementation phase(s), including planning, stakeholder workshops, and delivery of all core artefacts. Develop a clear As-Is view of current data platforms, operating models, and key data products across business functions. Define the target North Star architecture and operating model (platform capabilities, data products, governance, and ways of working). Confidently present the design principles, product roadmap and architecture blueprints to senior stakeholders such as Architecture Authority, Boards etc. Shape interim states and transition options, including coexistence and consolidation scenarios across different data platforms. Produce the target architecture blueprint, decision logs, and a phased migration strategy/roadmap with risks, dependencies, and high-level business case inputs. Engage and influence senior stakeholders (CDO, CIO, enterprise architects, platform leads) and run regular steering/decision forums. Required skills and experience 10 years in data & analytics, with hands-on experience as a Lead Data & AI Architect. Proven track record designing and leading large-scale data platform strategies and roadmaps, ideally in multi-cloud or multi-platform contexts such as Azure Databricks, GCP Databricks, AWS Snowflake etc. Strong understanding of modern data platform patterns (lakehouse, warehouse, data mesh/federated operating models). Good working knowledge of at least one major cloud data platform (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse, Redshift) and ability to remain platform-agnostic. Demonstrable experience interfacing with senior business and technology stakeholders and facilitating complex decision-making. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical options into business-oriented narratives and trade-offs. Retail/CPG industry experience, with understanding of domains such as commercial, supply chain, and marketing, and how data products drive value in these areas. Please share suitable CVs at the earliest.
