General Manager – Leisure Centre
Location: Oxford
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + Benefits
We are recruiting an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a large, community-focused leisure centre in Oxford.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role within a live operational environment, offering full accountability for health & safety, compliance, service delivery, team leadership, and commercial performance against contractual KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all aspects of health & safety, compliance, and safeguarding across the site
* Deliver operational performance in line with contractual requirements and KPIs
* Manage internal and external audits and quality assurance processes
* Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, working closely with technical teams
* Lead, motivate, and develop high-performing operational teams
* Act as Manager on Duty, ensuring an exceptional customer experience at all times
About You
* Proven experience leading teams within a leisure, facilities, or service-led environment
* Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
* Customer-focused, highly organised, and commercially aware
* Confident communicator with strong leadership and reporting skills
* First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to obtain)
* This role may be subject to a DBS check in line with policy
