The role
Salary: £30,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements:
- Strong expertise in C#, PowerShell scripting, WebAPI, and JSON/API integration
- Solid experience in backend development with MSSQL; MongoDB experience is desirable
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Ansible (AAP 2.4/2.5), and DevOps tooling such as Git, Jenkins, and Confluence
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitLab Duo and Claude
- Good understanding of SDLC, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies
- Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, coding best practices, and automation
Responsibilities: - Develop and engineer SQL-based solutions to support key technology initiatives
- Enhance solution design and delivery, ensuring seamless integration with internal platforms
- Follow best practices for change control, database security, and governance
- Produce and maintain clear documentation across all solution components
- Collaborate proactively across infrastructure teams and promote best practices
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders

We are recruiting for a SQL Server Developer/Engineer to support SQL Engineering initiatives and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions aligned to cyber and infrastructure programmes. This is a 12-month contract based in Cheshire, with two days onsite each week and the remainder working from home. The role is offered inside IR35 and gives us the opportunity to work across enterprise services in a collaborative, technically focused environment.
