Job Description:
Position: Electrical Engineering Technician
Reports to: Engineering Manager
We offer a great salary, benefits, and a company van. The role is based in Inverness / Aberdeen.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide reactive and proactive maintenance services on operational assets and site facilities. Responsibilities include fault finding, repairs, site upgrades, and improvements. The role is mainly electrical but includes mechanical elements.
The engineer will utilize a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work records and tasks, with responsibilities for system updates and sign-offs.
Key duties include:
1. Performing minor electrical maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installations.
2. Reviewing and updating site electrical drawings.
3. Carrying out isolations for electrical assets as required.
4. Fault finding on electrical assets, supporting mechanical fault finding when possible.
5. Maintaining records of engineering and maintenance activities.
6. Managing electrical works within CMMS, overseeing in-house and contracted tasks.
7. Managing annual electrical inspections, including scope of work, bid analysis, and planning.
8. Supporting electrical projects and site upgrades, and assisting with Management of Change processes.
9. Supporting HSE intervention plans as needed.
10. Communicating effectively to ensure safe and efficient operations.
11. Managing electrical contractors to ensure standards and policies are met.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Fully qualified as an Electrical Engineer or Electrician with suitable qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship.
* Minimum 2 years' industrial experience, preferably in Oil & Gas or Process industries.
* Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (minimum).
* Membership of an accredited management institute or recognized body.
* Understanding of Process Safety.
Personal Skills/Attributes:
* Self-motivated and proactive.
* Effective communication and influencing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Excellent report writing and document management skills.
