Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neurodisability team based at Clatterbridge Rehabilitation Centre. The ward consists of 30 beds split into 20 stroke rehab and 10 neuro rehab beds. Patients follow a pathway of therapy enabling them to reach an optimum level of independence. It has a Multidisciplinary approach facilitated by a team of nurses, OT's, Physio's, SLT, Neuropsychologists and the Discharge Hub.
Responsibilities
* Managing a case load of patients for duration of shift.
* Administering medication.
* Accurate record keeping on EPR system.
* Providing nursing care to assist with ADL's.
* Proactive in decision making and advocating for their patients.
* Complying with WUTH Trust policies and guidelines.
* Ensuring patient safety.
* Effective communication within the MDT and with patients and relatives.

Requirements
The applicant will be required to hold 1st Level Registered Nurse qualification and be able to provide evidence of working in a hospital environment within the last 6 months, either as a Staff Nurse or Student Nurse.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to confidently provide care to a varied patient group, some of whom display challenging behaviours. You will be expected to competently administer medications, keep accurate records and documentation, monitor patients' vital signs as well as supporting your colleagues. Your communication skills should be of a high standard and you should be committed to delivering an excellent service. You should be able to manage your time/workload effectively in a busy environment. The ideal candidate must be willing to embrace patient focused nursing based on traditional values. An awareness of Infection Prevention and Control is essential.
