The post holder will need to have skills to safely coordinate care for 26 patients. Attend meetings in the ward manager's absence and communicate effectively with the team, patients, and the wider trust.

To support our robust training standards to deliver safe, effective care, utilising audits to identify areas of success and improvements. Assist in supporting a diverse team in day-to-day activities, following and upholding safe standards of care and working in line with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

1. Assessment, planning, and implementation of care for 26 neurosurgical patients within our specialties of Oncology/Hydrocephalus, with scope to expand to other neurosurgical areas.
2. Conducting clinical audits and developing action plans.
3. Supporting sickness policies and HR processes.
4. Undertaking ward-based education and planning training for the team.
5. Interacting with and supporting patients' complaints and concerns, escalating ward issues appropriately.
6. Building rapport with ward staff and supporting high standards of safe practice.
7. Supporting and enhancing patient flow.
8. Providing safe, evidence-based practice.
9. Ensuring the team adheres to the Trust's safeguarding policies.
10. Collaborating with colleagues to deliver care through effective multi-professional work.
11. Coordinating specialist functions, including making clinical decisions where appropriate.
12. Monitoring quality standards of care in line with CQC requirements and organizational objectives.
13. Delivering and supervising a high-quality patient experience.
