The role will support one of the department's largest OEM service partner contracts. Ensuring devices coming into the EME workshop are being repaired and serviced in line with OEM specification. The successful candidate will be driven by a high level of customer service and attention to detail.
The role will also undertake the servicing and maintenance of a broad range of highly complex Medical devices throughout RSH, and third party stakeholders.
The role will frequently require the post holder to engage with business projects and the adoption of new technologies in line with business requirements.
Main duties of the job
Act as point of service contact for OEM service partnerManage calibration and repairs with OEM contract in line with ISO9001 QMSManage OEM stock in line with ISO9001 QMSProactive monitoring to ensure maximum uptime, reporting any downtime in a timely manner to the Head of Medical EngineeringPlan and carry out own daily tasks and work load as well as allocation of work load to other staff membersEngagement with third-party vendors, including participation in service reviews, billing review, and escalation of issues where appropriate
Assist in overseeing one of the department's largest OEM service partner contractsMaintain Medical Devices & Systems to the highest levels of performance, quality and integrity aligned to HPL requirementsParticipate in Planned Maintenance Programme (PPM) across the EME portfolio, delivering the programme of PPM services.

From time to time you may be expected to lift heavy equipment
The post holder will need to concentrate on accurate testing and input information to equipment during any calibration procedures
The post holder is subject to HPL working conditions within the RSCH facility, which may include soiled and dirty equipment

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree level education (equivalent professional qualifications such as HNC/HND plus relevant experience of operating at this level), plus extensive experience in medical equipment
* Registration as Clinical Technologist or Scientist
Knowledge and Experience
* Able to support the development of the long-term strategic plan for the delivery and on-going support of the trusts Medical Devices. Recommending future products and services as these become relevant.
* Experience of monitoring service providers, and able to negotiate and manage contracts to deliver best value for the trust
* Experience of use of Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, excel, outlook etc
* Experience of working in the patient environment
* Experience of repair & maintenance of highly complex Medical Devices and systems
* Experience with asset management and change control Processes
* Extensive experience holding senior technical roles, preferably in NHS hospital environments
* Experienceofimplementationofpoliciesand procedures, in an ISO 9001 environment
