Job Role & Key Responsibilities
We are currently looking for experienced Contract Maintenance Engineers to support with ad-hoc shift cover within a fast‑paced manufacturing and print production environment. This is an ideal opportunity for engineers looking to pick up additional shifts alongside their current role, with flexible day, night, weekend, and emergency cover available.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide engineering support during planned and emergency shift cover
* Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across production machinery
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
* Support production teams to reduce downtime and keep equipment running efficiently
* Work across high-speed manufacturing, print, binding, and finishing equipment
* Follow site health & safety procedures at all times
* Work independently during 12-hour day or night shifts
The Ideal Candidate will have
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* Previous experience within manufacturing, production, or industrial maintenance
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills
* The ability to work independently and confidently on shift
* Availability for ad‑hoc 12-hour shifts, days or nights
* A reliable and flexible approach to work
Desirable Skills
* Experience working with high-speed production, print, packaging, binding, or finishing equipment
* Previous contract or shift‑cover experience
* Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience within a live manufacturing environment
* Strong health & safety awareness
