The Role & Responsibilities Supporting the School Business Manager and Site Supervisor, you will handle the vital maintenance and security work that ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment for all students. Site Security: Responsible for the morning unlocking of the school gates and buildings, ensuring the site is secure and ready for the arrival of staff and pupils. Maintenance & Repairs: Carrying out general DIY tasks, minor repairs, and routine maintenance to furniture, fixtures, and fittings across the campus. Health & Safety: Conducting regular safety checks, including fire alarm testing and water temperature monitoring, while ensuring all walkways are clear of hazards. Porterage & Cleaning: Assisting with the movement of furniture for school events and exams, and ensuring the grounds are kept tidy and free of litter. Requirements Experience: Previous experience in a caretaking, site maintenance, or trade-based role is highly desirable. Skills: Basic DIY skills (plumbing, joinery, or painting) and the ability to work independently using your initiative. DBS: A commitment to safeguarding; the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check. Right to Work: Must have the valid right to work in the UK.
