Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Technician.

This is an opportunity to work within a family-run business with supportive colleagues who are proud to be part of a longstanding British engineering company. We uphold traditional values and operate in a traditional engineering environment.

We are among the market leaders in producing custom brake kits and all parts for braking systems for various vehicles, including Road Cars, Classic Cars, Race Cars, and Kit Cars, from one-off specials to low-volume production.

Previous specific experience is not essential, as this is a small, specialized industry with few similar companies. However, relatable experience and an interest in automotive engineering will be advantageous.

Extensive on-the-job training will be provided, with the successful candidate shadowing an experienced team member.

If you seek an opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment, we encourage you to apply today!

What we offer is rare in today’s changing and uncertain job market. We provide full shadowing and 1:1 induction; you will be a valued team member from day one.

Main Responsibilities

The key aspects of this engineering role include, but are not limited to:

* Sawing: safely operate the saw, communicate with team members to understand requirements, and complete tasks accordingly.
* Deliveries: coordinate with dispatch to receive metal deliveries, verify sizes, mark, and store materials.
* Maintain a clean and organized sawing area.
* Ensure the workshop area is clean and safe.
* Clean swarf from machines and empty swarf bins into the tipper.
* Monitor and maintain coolant levels in all machines.
* Monitor and maintain slideway lubrication in all machines.
* Sweep and tidy various workshop departments.
* Perform finishing and de-burring operations on parts, manually removing sharp edges and countersinking holes as needed.
* Load and unload CNC machines and other jobs safely and efficiently.
* Assist with basic load/unload/QC checks, especially on simpler jobs.
* Learn all aspects of the Hi Spec automotive engineering production line.

Most machines are CNC, computer-controlled.

We value local talent and prefer candidates who live within a 45-minute commute to Dartford.

We seek individuals who enjoy working with their hands, stay busy, and are looking for a long-term career. Proactive, adaptable, punctual, and reliable candidates are encouraged to apply.
