Senior Urban Designer Job in Tower Hamlets, London

Role & Responsibilities
1. Lead on the design and development of high-profile projects, including visioning, masterplanning, and the preparation of design codes and regulatory plans
2. Manage project teams and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and local communities
3. Produce layouts, parameter plans, and land budget plans
4. Write reports for Design and Access Statements (DAS) and Design Codes
5. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of Urban Designers, Architects, and support staff
6. Represent the practice in client meetings, workshops, and public consultations
7. Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the studio’s design ethos
Required Skills & Experience
8. Postgraduate qualification in Urban Design is essential
9. Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience within a design practice, specifically on large-scale urban design and masterplanning projects in the UK
10. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, CAD, and hand-drawing
11. Experience producing layouts, parameter plans, and land budget plans
12. Evidence of report writing for Design and Access Statements (DAS) and Design Codes (Design Code experience is beneficial but not essential)
13. Experience in residential-led, mixed-use projects and large-scale master plans
14. Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
15. Proven ability to manage project teams and collaborate effectively with clients and consultants
16. An architectural background is advantageous but not mandatory
