Döhle Yacht Crew are seeking a professional and committed Chef for a 50m private motor yacht operating a dual-season itinerary. The vessel runs with a busy schedule and requires a chef who is confident managing all aspects of the galley independently. Due to cabin arrangements, this position is open to male candidates only.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' industry experience, with a strong understanding of Kosher dietary requirements and the ability to maintain a strictly Kosher galley. This includes preparing meals for both guests and crew in accordance with Kosher guidelines—no pork or shellfish is served onboard. Experience in baking fresh Challah loaves for weekly Shabbat ceremonies is essential, along with a proactive attitude toward learning about Jewish traditions and Kosher food preparation rules.
The chef must be confident working as a sole chef, cooking for 9 crew and between 6 to 20+ guests. Strong provisioning and storage skills are required, along with experience using Miele appliances and the Paco Jet. The ability to produce menus weeks in advance and adapt to constructive feedback from the owner is key. The role also demands flexibility to prepare impromptu canapés and finger foods for large cocktail events.
A collaborative approach is essential, particularly with the Chief Stewardess, to ensure meal planning and service styles align with the owners' evolving preferences. The successful candidate will be calm under pressure, highly organized, and take pride in maintaining the galley to the highest standards of cleanliness. A long-term commitment is expected, and the chef should be interested in building a strong relationship with both the owners and crew.
Start date is negotiable but before 1st May 2026. The rotation is 3:1, and the salary is $8,000+ USD per month, adjustable based on experience and currency preference. Preference will be given to candidates already in the US.
