The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week (shift pattern Monday Thursday 7.30am -16.00pm and Friday 7.30am- 15.30pm)

At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
What you will do:
* General maintenance, such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves and litter, verges, weed spraying, tree care, horticulture activities such as planting, pruning and seeding.
* Erect and dismantle equipment, operating light plant and power tools, undertake cutting equipment checks.
* Setting out, making sports pitches including grass and tarmac with upkeep of artificial, synthetic pitches in recreational areas.
* Painting sundry equipment.
* Drainage works.
What you will bring:
* Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
* Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation.
* Full driving licence.
* Weed spraying certificate.
* Qualified in the use of grounds maintenance machinery including Chainsaw Wind Blown Trees (CS 34) CS30/CS31 and Chainsaw maintenance and Cross Cut
* Knowledge and experience of gardening, horticulture operations and grounds maintenance type duties.
* Experience in operating light plant and equipment and wheeled tractors.
