Seeking Director of Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships for CIC on path to convert to charity/Trustee. Bringing strategic leadership, governance expertise & financial oversight to early phase development, delivering mission to address Deaths of Despair, poverty & inequality.
What difference will you make?
As a Director of Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships you are in a steering role of an early development stage of a company, allowing you to ensure a robust ethical framework is laid for later conversion to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
What are we looking for?
I'm looking for someone with
Over 5 years of fundraising and business development experience, especially in bid writing, corporate partnerships, and building income from events and individual giving.
A strategic mindset, with experience developing income strategies and planning for long-term sustainability.
Strong financial oversight skills, ability to manage budgets but this will be not be your role. Have an understanding of what would ensure fiscal health, and mitigate risk.
People management and change leadership abilities, guiding growth and adaptation as the company evolves.
A firm grasp of governance, charity law, fundraising regulation, and procurement, so we build from a place of strong accountability. Developing this knowledge within the role is also welcomed.
A deep commitment to addressing deaths of despair—poverty, suicide, inequality—and a drive to create tangible, life-saving change.
A deep appreciation of the creative arts.
Comfortable being around creatives and an inclusive adaptability towards neurodiversity accommodations and needs.
An openness to learning and expanding skillsets and personal and professional growth.
High performing individuals who are looking for their first director role are welcome.
Can do/Will do mindset and perseverance is essential.
What will you be doing?
I am the sole founder of the CIC, (that will evolve into a charity). Formed in 2022, to address the many societal challenges that I have lived experience of myself, including the challenge of neurodiversity literacy disabilities. As Director of Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships you will lead in your area of expertise in bureaucratic written communication.
The modern world is plagued by wayward bureaucracy, which is problematic for everyone, but especially so in exacerbating inequalities, due to blind spots around written communication disabilities—and, in turn, this is contributing to rising rates of deaths of despair. The Head Of A Pin is focused on shining a light on the root causes of inequality with a primary focus on the disproportionate high rates of challenging circumstances and premature loss of life amongst the neurodiverse. In equal measure it also celebrates the innate creativity amongst this neuro-minority population. Your role will involve adapting working methods and materials to be inclusive of varying methods of neurodiverse communication, including oral recordings to text documentation.
My areas of proficiency are as a creative. The funding to date, presently and in the future, is Arts Council funding but the aim is to widen funding avenues/opportunities to all four business strands of the company, that along with Artistic Creation includes sound recording and music publishing activities, online retail and research and experimental development in social sciences and humanities.
The Head Of A Pin name is reference to, 'how many angels can dance on the head of a pin', metaphor for pointless or overly detailed debates which the company rejects in favour for a bolder more time-sensitive approach to tackling some of the issues facing the most vulnerable in society. Your area of proficiency will contribute to sustaining the ability to deliver for this community.
A background or passion in the theatre and playwriting would be beneficial in crafting a characteristic tone of The Head Of A Pin. An interest and openness to developing these interests and skills is equally welcome.
The aim for The Head Of A Pin Board is to retain being a small engine room for wider reaching constructive societal change.
