We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join our oncology pharmacy team on a fixed term or secondment until June 2026. This role is ideal for a technician with experience in cancer care or a strong interest in developing skills in this specialist area.
You will support the Cancer Pharmacists in delivering high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical care to individuals receiving chemotherapy. The post will primarily focus on the oncology unit, with close working relationships across pharmacy dispensary and aseptic unit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in planning and managing clinic workload alongside the oncology pharmacist.
2. Support service improvement, including process redesign.
3. Provide patient education for specific cancer patient groups.
4. Ensure timely and accurate supply of chemotherapy and supportive medicines.
5. Maintain robust stock control processes and contribute to reducing medicine waste.
6. Collaborate with the chemotherapy nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
What we are looking for:
7. Registered GPhC Pharmacy Technician with an accredited checking qualification,
8. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
9. Excellent communication and team working abilities
10. Experience in cancer care or a keen interest in developing in this area.
You will participate in extended hours, weekend and public holiday rotas.
