As Technical Underwriter you will act as the technical specialist for the team. Having responsibility for the technical competence of a team of underwriters you will play a key part in mentoring and coaching, providing training, procedure, practice and technical updates, and conducting audits. You’ll work closely with various internal and external stakeholders and act as a referral point in the team, contributing to a dynamic and high-performing underwriting team. In this role you will also have responsibility for handling your own case work and you’ll handle some of our most complex, prestigious and fascinating risks and valued customers ensuring seamless servicing. What you'll be doing Developing, negotiating and profitably underwriting new and existing business within own authority and in line with the team, delivering underwriting excellence through specialist knowledge and support Responsible for the technical competence of underwriters across the area.
